Gugulethu Duma (aka Dumama) is a Berlin-based South African composer, vocalist, and sonic poet. Her work moves between experimental composition, film scoring, live electronic processing, physical gesture, and traditional Xhosa instrumentation. Rooted in improvisation, somatic study, and devotion as research, her practice draws together voice, uHadi bow, live looping, and heavy hardware processors. Across multidisciplinary performance, immersive installation, and film, Dumama activates listening as a method for embodied social justice and African technological consciousness.
