Therapeutic Practice & Teaching
Voice, body, memory, and sound.
Voice, body, memory, and sound.
Voice, body, memory, and sound.
My practice bridges somatic therapy, ancestral body noise, and experimental sound. Grounded in a Master’s degree in Ethnochoreology and Intangible Cultural Heritage, lineage studies in Xhosa music composition, narrative making and uhadi playing under bow Master Madosini Lathozi, and integrative trauma-informed somatic training through The Embody Lab, this work honors the body as a primary archive of memory, emotion, and sound. I am constantly learning different sound medicine and trauma support tools to hold space for innerstanding.

Ancestral Body Noise
Ancestral Body Noise
Ancestral body noise integrates vocal performance, movement, somatic awareness, and narrative making emerging from the subtle body as well as intergenerational heritage and wounds. This practice uses breath, vocal improvisation, and ancestral rhythms to release physical tension, dismantle performance anxiety, and reconnect participants with their inherent sonic power and tools for deeper reflection and ritual making. Centering Black ontological frameworks and embodied ecologies restores the voice to its fullest expression.

Rooted in trauma-informed somatic care, deep listening, and traditional oral architectures, this offering explores the relationship between the physical voice and electronic tools. Participants engage the analog body before touching the digital interface, transforming the Digital Audio Workstation into an extension of the somatic voice.
